Cabopino
This small residential area with the most charming marina on the Costa del Sol finds itself fronting some of the finest beaches in the Marbella area, as well as a protected dune and umbrella pine landscape.
Normally, yacht harbours are quite busy places that attract large numbers of visitors to their water sports facilities, restaurants and cafés, not to mention marina atmosphere, but Cabopino’s scale, charm and location make it an altogether more intimate spot – the kind of little port a painter would conjure up on canvas, complete with eateries and cafés overlooking the yachts.
This pretty spot is flanked on the one side by large sandy beaches, fish restaurants and family-style beach clubs, a stretch of nudist coastline and the protected Artola reserve of dunes, umbrella pines and offshore biosphere. It’s a special spot within the Costa del Sol, close to all the amenities of nearby Elviria, Calahonda and Marbella, but with a relaxed ambience of its own.
The marina area also features some shops right on the doorstep of a small but attractive community of apartments and beachside villas with direct access to the seashore and excellent Mediterranean views. This intimate, leafy area continues on the upper side of the coastal road, where a larger residential section of Cabopino contains townhouses, villas and modern apartments overlooking the pretty Cabopino golf course and umbrella pines that slope down to the sea.
