What is Seghers?

What is the history of Seghers?

In the 1970s, Segher’s first designers envisioned a village environment surrounded by pine trees. This inspired a unique architecture combining classic Mediterranean and Scandinavian design elements.  The first homes built in Seghers were apartments and individual homes, connected to Seghers Club, a hotel located right on the beach close to Playa del Cristo, long since gone.

Instrumental in the early development of Seghers was Antonio Lamela, an iconic architect in Spain responsible for many famous buildings throughout the country and in the Costa del Sol. He designed the apartments and some individual homes in Seghers, including the renovation and extension of the Seghers Club. Seghers was conceived, like Bahia Dorada, as a low-density community surrounded by trees and green spaces. Since then, new generations of developers have added new innovations to the urbanization, but the ambience has remained the same.  Seghers homes remain popular with local and foreign buyers alike. It is uniquely placed as being the only urbanisation walking distance of Estepona and the port.
