El Pilar

Like a well-kept secret, El Pilar is at the heart of things yet off the beaten track. How? Because there is very little passing traffic on its tranquil, tree-lined streets, yet for those people who live or own property in El Pilar, it’s just a short walk to a good choice of shops, cafes and restaurants. What’s more, the beaches of the New Golden Mile are a few hundred metres away.

El Pilar is close to the amenities of Benavista, including a bowling green, as well as the golf courses of El Paraíso, Los Flamingos, Atalaya and Guadalmina. San Pedro Alcántara at five minutes is the nearest town, with Estepona, Benahavis, Puerto Banús and Marbella town around ten minutes distant.

There is also an excellent choice of schools in the area, but in addition to permanent residents El Pilar is a very well-established and popular spot to own a holiday home, thanks to a combination of privacy, amenities, its central location and also the stylish villas and apartments available in Pilar, many of them set within beautiful mature gardens. The area also offers some excellent properties with renovation potential.
