Occupying the hills and valleys that surround Los Arqueros Golf and Country Club, the neighbourhood of Los Arqueros is made up of over a dozen different urbanisations, that contain almost every kind of property you could wish for, from compact apartments within gated communities up to sizeable, single-family villas on large, front-line golf plots, many of which enjoy views over the course to the Mediterranean.

Lying immediately east of the A397 to Ronda, not long after it passes beneath the AP-7 toll highway, Los Arqueros is situated to the south of La Zageleta and north of Puerto de los Almendros. It is conveniently close to local entertainment hotspots like Benahavís, San Pedro Alcántara and Puerto Banús, all under 15 minutes away by car, while Málaga-Costa del Sol International Airport is less than an hour’s drive.

What is Los Arqueros?

Los Arqueros contains a dozen different communities nestled in the hills and valleys surrounding Los Arqueros Golf and Country Club. When was Los Arqueros created?

Los Arqueros Golf and Country Club was opened in 1991. It was designed by Severiano Ballesteros, one of the greatest professional golf players of all time. Over his career, Seve won an impressive 90 international tournaments including five major championships. Seve wanted to create a golf course that blended in with its environment while simultaneously offering golfers a fascinating challenge. On completion, the course was everything that Seve desired. The fairways are narrow, and the greens are small. These days, there are several housing options, all of which offer high-quality apartments, townhouses, and villas. Many of these surround the fairway and provide sweeping views of the links.

What kind of urbanizations are included in Los Arqueros?

The 150 apartments of Las Jacarandas greet you as you enter Los Arqueros from the Ronda Road. The gated community boasts incredible views, 2 swimming pools and even a children’s pool. Larger urbanizations such as El Lago, La Finca, and La Torre offer apartments and townhouses that overlook the golf course. The modern apartments of Avalon are known for their sea views. As is El Alto, the first development built at Los Arqueros. How do you get to Los Arqueros?

Los Arquerosis located in Benahavís, a town on the Costa del Sol in the province of Malaga. To get to Los Arqueros by car, take the AP-7 highway. Or take the A397 past El Madroñal and head north into the mountains, towards Ronda. Los Arqueros sits near the cultural hotspots of San Pedro de Alcántara, Puerto Banús, and Marbella. To the west lies Estepona; to the north, La Zagaleta and, beyond, the mountains of Ronda. In less than an hour, you can drive to two international airports, Málaga-Costa del Sol to the west, Gilbraltar to the west.

Is Los Arqueros a good place to live?

Hiking

Nearby Benahavís offers spectacular environment for outdoor adventures. If you enjoy hiking, you can find numerous mountain trails by following the road to La Zagaleta and Ronda or the one through Benahavís. This is a paradise for those who love the outdoors. If you feel even more adventurous, try a water walk down the Benahavis river. Begin with a leap into a cool rock pool and proceed with a combination of riverside hiking and swimming. Strike out on your own or take a guided tour. Other trails lead through pine and cork oak forests to waterfalls and gorges. Challenge yourself with the tough walk to castle ruins. Beaches

Simply toss your beach gear into the car, and you’ll be setting up your lounger in minutes. San Pedro de Alcántara Beach is a stretch of dark sand that runs for 1,400 metres along the coast. This well-manicured beach is known for its palm trees, eucalyptus grove, and numerous beach bars. It has ample parking, too. Seve’s Kitchen and Bar offers breakfast, lunch and light snacks on the terrace overlooking the golf course. Specialties include pastas and steak and short ribs.

La View is a restaurant and loungebar with views of the Benahavís hills and the Mediterranean sea. They offer a range of specialties including Japanese sashimi and rolls, as well as Italian pastas. In addition there are a wide variety of grilled meats, fresh fish entrees, and lobster.

On the doorstep on Los Arqueros is the beautiful development of La Heredia where you can find a well stocked Deli serving breakfast and lunch, a bar and excellent butcher.

Shopping

Los Arqueros offers small shops and, of course, a pro shop that includes fashion for golfers. Benahavís itself has an open air market on Tuesdays, as well as a flea market (rastro in Spanish) every Sunday at a chapel just outside the village. Is Los Arqueros a good real estate investment?
