The sun is shining, the summer’s here, so where better to spend your time than at one of the many chiringuitos and beach clubs that line the coast. These days you can find them stretching all along the beachfront so whether you want a quick snack or a long relaxed lunch you are sure to find something that fits the bill. In Estepona, there are plenty of places to choose from. Palm Beach, located at one end of Estepona’s Playa de la Rada, offers a combination of a nice relaxed beach bar with a good international kitchen.
For those looking for a little more adventure from their beach holiday there is also the nearby Blue Dolphin which offers adventure trips and dolphin trips. Meanwhile for those that want something a little more chic there is the stylish Sonora Beach as well as the Balinese-style Puro Beach at Laguna village.
Further along the coast in Marbella there are a large range of options available with Bono’s Beach, at Costa Bella, offering Balinese beach beds and themed fiestas, the chic Ocean Club, west of Puerto Banus, well known for its massive pool and cool vibe, and Trocadero Playa with a great restaurant, a chill out zone with big sofas, and hammocks.
The same group also has Trocadero Arena in Rio Real which is Safari all the way, with beautiful wildlife paintings, colonial style furniture, and a fantastic restaurant.
Of course there is also Nikki Beach, next to the Don Carlos Hotel, which has set the benchmark for glamorous beach clubs with champagne on ice, trendy cuisine prepared by top chefs, and party nights with famous DJs that make it a regular haunt for the rich and famous. Sotogrande is a little more understated that its glitzy Marbella neighbour but it offers beautiful clean beaches and has its own share of relaxing beach clubs.
Octogono Beach Club boasts two separate areas; a children’s area which has two pools, a supervised play area and its own access to the restaurant for snacks; and an adult only area with its own pool, and large lawn to sunbathe.
The chiringuitos Bahia Limon and Chambao are also worth a mention and a great place to unwind after a hard day on the beach!
