DOM3 prize emphasises high quality real estate sector of the Golden Triangle
The ‘Golden Triangle’, a nickname coined by property specialists in Marbella in recent years, describes a most enviable sector of real estate on the Costa del Sol. With Marbella at its heart, the zone extends along the coast to Estepona and inland to Benahavís. This gilded area saw more than €350 million worth of high-end real estate transactions in the past year alone, leading to a boost in local employment figures of 4,000 direct, and 12,000 indirect jobs.
Prestigious architecture prize offered by DOM3
The Association of Entrepreneurs for High Quality Housing (DOM3)is an association of thirty-two companies specialising in the design, promotion, construction and marketing of high-end homes located throughout the Golden Triangle. This collection of professionals is bound together by a shared desire to promote the highest standards of professionalism, technical know-how and creative expertise. The ultimate aim is to raise standards in the area to ever-higher levels.
To this end, the members have initiated the prestigious DOM3 International Architecture Prize. Open to all nationalities, the prize is currently in its third year, with entries for 2018 closing on the 16th May. This year the competition’s set task is to design a luxury apartment complex suitable for a 10,000 square metre plot in Estepona. The first two editions of the competition sought to elicit designs for luxury villas in La Zagaleta in Benahavís, and Santa Clara in Marbella, so it is only fitting that the third edition of the competition should concentrate on the third point of the Golden Triangle.
Since the first competition in 2014, €100,000 in prizes has been awarded with more than 300 participants competing for the prize.Who will win this year? The participants will have to wait until the Gala Dinner on June 14thto find out. In the meantime, Terra Meridiana has a great range of contemporary and traditional homes to suit all tastes.
