Mallorcan Tennis Star Rafael Nadal Launches 2 Costa del Sol Luxury Developments
Partnership will spend €200 million between Estepona and Marbella building almost 100 luxury properties.
The long-standing tennis star Rafael Nadal is serving up a partnership on the Costa del Sol that will lead to two major “branded residence” developments encompassing almost 100 luxury homes. The development will be headed by Palya Invest, in which Nadal partners with longtime collaborator Abel Matutes. The two have collaborated since they formed the company Mabel Capital Global in 2013, along with third partner Manuel Campos Guallar.
Guallar parted ways amicably earlier this year and Mabel was divided up between them. Nadal and Matutes took the real estate division, along with TV series company Komodo. Campos kept the hospitality division. These new developments are projected to be completed in 2027 and will include 47 luxury beachfront homes in Estepona’s Los Lllanos area. The development will cover a total of 36 hectares. In Nagüeles de Marbella the development is slated to include 40 luxury, multi-family homes.
Palya Invest is also collaborating with Sierra Blanca, founded and still headed by Pedro Rodríguez Castillo in 1986. The Rodriguez family are well-known in Marbella’s real estate world with numerous projects over the years. Sierra Blanca is the source of the “branded residences” concept in Marbella. These were a series of alliances that they undertook with luxury, haute couture brands. For instance, they partnered with Fendi in the creation of EPIC, a development with 74 top-end homes.
Sierra Blanca is also working with Dolce & Gabbana in the development of 92 homes on Marbella’s Golden Mile. With about half of those properties already sold off-plan, prices range from €4-€20 million. Sierra Blanca also collaborated with Karl Lagerfeld on five luxury villas, three of which have sold for around €15 million.
Based on this history and Sierra Blanca’s role in the project, this promises to be another stylish, luxury project on the Costa del Sol. It is guaranteed to add to the prestige associated with the region and contribute to further development.
