For lovers of golf there is no shortage of quality golf courses on the Costa del Sol. In fact there are a total of 14 clubs in the immediate Marbella area, ranging from Cabopino in the east to Guadalmina in the west. Together, they offer the standard and variety of courses, facilities and natural settings that explain why Marbella is one of the world’s favourite golf destinations.
Marbella East
Cabopino Golf Marbella
- 18-hole course close to Cabopino Marina
- This short, often hilly course offers a good challenge and beautiful views of the Mediterranean and surrounding pine forest. Its greens reward accurate iron play

Santa María Golf and Country Club
- 18-hole course not far from the Elviria commercial centre
- Santa María follows the contours of the valley across the motorway. Hilly and panoramic, it is also popular, pleasant and accessible, with some excellent bunkering

Greenlife Golf Marbella
- 9-hole course in Elviria Hills
- This fun, hilly course is well maintained and offers a good variety of holes with the signature lake as a highlight

Marbella Golf Country Club
- 18-hole course near El Rosario
- The best ‘mountain defile’ course on the Costa del Sol. Surrounded by nature and panoramic views, it featuressome spectacular tee shots and first-class greens

Santa Clara Golf Course
- 18-hole course near Los Monteros
- A popular course that contains two loops of nine holes with minimal rough. The practice facilities here are particularly good

Río Real Golf
- 18-hole course just east of Marbella town
- Río Real is Marbella’s oldest and most charming course. There is some traffic noise from the coastal road, but the course is beautiful and lined with majestic palms. Greens are slightly raised and test your skill

Marbella/Puerto Banús
Monte Paraíso Golf Club
- 9-hole course two minutes from Marbella centre
- Hilly course with spectacular sea views, carefully manicured fairways and wide greens. Look out for the 3rd, 4th and 5th holes

Golf La Dama de Noche
- 9-hole course near Puerto Banús
- Famous for its floodlit night play. Interesting for this reason, with moderate bunkering and some lakes that add to the experience
Club de Golf Aloha
- 18-hole golf club in Nueva Andalucía’s famous ‘Golf Valley’
- A classy, friendly club set in very pleasant surrounds. It has two loops of 9 holes, rolling fairways, testing greens, water features and mountain views. All in all, a lovely place for golf

Real Club de Golf Las Brisas
- 18-holes in the heart of Marbella’s famous Golf Valley
- A Marbella classic by Trent Jones, this grand course is laid out over gently undulating terrain covered in subtropical vegetation. Effective bunkering and sloping greens combine to make accurate shot placement important

Los Naranjos Golf Club
- 18-hole course in Nueva Andalucía
- A challenging but rewarding course of two loops. Each has its own character: 1-9 undulating and 10-18 tree-lined. The facilities match the course’s high standards

- 27-hole course bordering Nueva Andalucía
- Pleasant and short-ish, this hotel course contains three hilly loops of nine holes bordered by pleasant residential areas. You’ll like the bunkering, doglegs, water features and greens

- 9-hole course on the west side of Nueva Andalucía
- Great for golfers of all levels, the water hazards and greens protected by bunkers improve precision play

Marbella West/San Pedro Alcántara
Real Club de Golf Guadalmina
- 18-hole course just west of San Pedro Alcántara

South (Sur) course: Some outstanding putting surfaces on a mostly level course that is pretty and easy to walk. It’s also spectacular as it skirts the sea
North (Norte) course: This part of the course meanders through residential areas and is less demanding than Guadalmina Sur. Some of the play is quite tight, but there is minimal rough. Lots of water hazards though.
